Tallulah Willis gave an update on her father Bruce Willis’ ongoing battle with frontotemporal dementia and shared how her family leans on each other for support.
The youngest daughter of the “Die Hard” actor and Demi Moore told E! News in a new interview, published Thursday, that her father is doing “the same,” which in his situation is “a good thing.”
“Our visits have so much love and I feel that overarches anything for me,” she said.
Tallulah explained that “being able to have” a “connection” with her father is what keeps them going.
“I know he knows how much I love him, I know how much he loves me – I know how much he loves all of us,” Tallulah said regarding the rest of her famous family.
Moore’s ex-husband retired from his decades-long acting career in March 2022 after he was diagnosed with aphasia and dementia.
Frontotemporal dementia can cause people to struggle with speech, affect memory function and behavior and even mimic movement conditions similar to those with Parkinson’s disease and ALS, per Mayo Clinic.
Despite noting how “hard” this journey is for her family, the 30-year-old revealed that Bruce’s health condition has “created an opportunity for more love.”
Tallulah then lovingly credited her sister Rumer, 36, for adding a “center of gravity” point for their loved ones with the birth of the 36-year-old’s daughter, Louetta.
Rumer and her ex-boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas, welcomed baby Louetta in April 2023. Tallulah called her a “unifying focal point” for the Willis-Moore family and said that they all “love to share” her.
Not only did this experience with their father add more “love” for their family, but Tallulah shared that they now have a “higher level of communication” with each other.
“In the past I might’ve dissociated or tuned out,” she said regarding overwhelming times. “Where now there’s more vocabulary that we’ve all learned that we can use seamlessly with each other.”
Rumer also shared a health update on Bruce last Friday, writing on Instagram that he is doing “great.”
Moore, 61, and her ex-husband welcomed Rumer, Scout, 33, and Tallulah during their 13-year marriage. They tied the knot in 1987 before calling it quits in 2000.
Bruce later married Emma Heming Willis, 46, in 2009 and welcomed two daughters. Their eldest, Mabel, was born in 2012 while her little sister, Evelyn, arrived in 2014.
